OCA Global before ZYGHT

Before ZYGHT, carrying out the processes of any of its 4 business lines with its clients required hundreds of Excel spreadsheets in physical format to record all the necessary information during field visits. Then, these spreadsheets had to be uploaded to the internet, and later digitized manually by collaborators who could take up to days to complete this task. At the end of each month, all the information was reviewed and analyzed through indicators set by the company.

It was a system that served them for many years but was not sustainable for them in the long term.

The Path to Optimization and Efficiency

La The decision to acquire ZYGHT's SaaS occurs when OCA Global Chile realizes that the number of records, management related to occupational safety and health, in addition to the integrated management system, were tasks increasingly difficult to perform through physical forms. At that time, managing certain tasks became more complex because the company was already operating throughout Chile, with a large number and diversity of clients, services, and projects. The need was already a more urgent reality for the organization, so it was decided to start a search for comprehensive software that could replace and digitize its various processes with cutting-edge technology.

The management of the entire acquisition and implementation process of ZYGHT was in the hands of Ricardo Ramirez, Corporate HSE Manager of OCA Chile.

The first contact with ZYGHT occurred in mid-2020, during the evaluation process led by Ricardo to identify the most suitable tool for his sector according to the market offer. For Ricardo, one thing that caught his attention is that ZYGHT allowed them to simplify tasks such as creating different forms, establishing different workplaces and responsibilities, among other functionalities, which could potentially mean a big change for the organization. Thus, the solution that most interested him was the Incident Management Module, which allows investigating the incident using effective and comprehensive methodologies.

Initial Impact of ZYGHT

In the beginning, there was some resistance from the workers to stop doing everything the way they were used to for years and to adapt to the new platform, but over time the benefits became increasingly evident to everyone. One of these benefits is that all the workers could begin to divide more easily each management they had to perform in front of any inconvenience, and everyone also had a backup of what they had done. In addition to this, ZYGHT had an impact from the start in also generating a greater commitment to the environment.

Today, almost 3 years have passed using ZYGHT, and the small divergences found at the beginning of the implementation have already been left behind. Over time, everyone has been learning to use the platform as part of their daily work.

Ricardo assesses that ZYGHT has fully met his initial expectations, being able to systematize the management of different processes, schedule activities, disseminate emergency plans, and consult online relevant information about what is being done throughout the country, among other activities that previously took a significant dedication of time and effort, complicating their optimal realization.

ZYGHT allowed them to implement an integrated management and control system, allowing strategic planning of various activities, being able to verify their compliance, supervise continuously, obtain information quickly, review indicators and, based on that, take actions.

Changing the previous paper processes for ZYGHT has meant not only a significant reduction in the time and effort needed to complete certain tasks but has also meant a reduction in the associated cost and has reduced the occurrence of human errors.

Planning, controlling, and obviously being able to obtain information quickly regarding audit processes is essential for the manager within the company. 

The tool has been very beneficial and has helped to generate an organizational culture oriented to the management of occupational safety and health. There is also now a habit of each activity performed being measured, reported, and evaluated to see who is complying and who is not, highlighting those who meet the requirements.

The Impact Experienced with the Collaboration of ZYGHT

Ricardo reports that at the beginning of this year, they had already exceeded 700 users within the platform, which has been considerable growth compared to around 150 users they reached during their first year. This exponential growth in the organization, accompanied by the support of ZYGHT, allowed OCA Global Chile to obtain the certification of standards ISO 17020, 17025, 17029, and 17021, which was one of their significant objectives before incorporating ZYGHT's SaaS.

"In reality, it is the plus of the tool, which is very very customizable and even manageable in the sense that, for example, if I want to make a form, I can modify it easily or create it from scratch directly from my user as an administrator, without needing to ask ZYGHT to load it for me.
